How To Make Your Dreams Come True 04.05.2020 →
In order to make your dreams come true, you have to change your dreams into goals. Once you have a clear vision in your mind of what you would like to achieve, you need to create an action plan. One approach many are using, me included, is splitting the year into quarters. And focus on ninety days at a time. January-March, April-June and so on. This is the monthly overview I am currently using. I also have lists for daily deliverables (today's outcomes) as well as a list for weekly overview.

Instead of looking at your life as a long continuous and boring timeline, another option may be to look at your life as a book. With a countless amount of different chapters and infinite directions available for you to choose from. When was the last time you voluntarily moved to a new chapter? For how long have you repeated the same story over and over? Maybe it’s time to make some new choices and move on to the next chapter of your life? Each second is a new moment with unlimited options.

The reason I suddenly got hung up in character building is because when contemplating on my gym membership, I suddenly realized building muscles and the perfect body won’t give me a new skill set. At the end of the day when I quit the gym, my body goes back to normal. If I evolve my material arts skills however, learn how to play a guitar or learn how to draw, that’s something I will carry in my tool belt for the rest of my life. There are many analogies you can use to describe building your character. You may compare it with installing new software to a computer or adding attributes to a player in a video game. The analogy I like most, is adding new skill sets to your tool belt, which in the long run increase your level of flexibility and human understanding. Why do we exist? The best way to predict your future is to create it. Same goes with your character. By changing your daily habits, you are able to build a completely new character. In order to change, you need to look in the mirror and be completely honest with yourself: Am I happy living this lifestyle? Are there any improvements I can add, to generate more joy and happiness to my daily life? Is this lifestyle directing me towards my dreams? As human beings, we are way more powerful than many people are aware of.

One of the most rewarding outdoor activities I know, is bicycling. It has a lot of advantages. As a matter of fact, I can't name any reason for not to bicycle. You get fresh air, exercise, you travel distances quicker than walking, no wear and tear on your knees in comparison to jogging and running on asphalt, no pollution, you get to know your neighborhood, and of course it's completely free of charge. My best ride so far was back in 2016 when me and two friends had a bicycle trip on Rallarvegen.

When one door closes, another opens, but often we look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened. As soon as I played with the idea of ending my gym membership, I suddenly got inspired to look for a new bike as my last two have been stolen. I did a quick online search, and found a great bike for $48. The same type of bike I have had previously. Went and bought it immediately. That's the cool thing about our life. Be flexible and new doors show up.

How The Pandemic Has Changed My Life 03.29.2020 →
Reflecting on the current pandemic and how it has influenced my life. Before the outbreak, I worked out on average 6 times per week. The gym was how I maintained my mental health. I have probably lost 5 kilos of body weight since they closed the gyms, and decreased my daily meals from 5 per day to 2-3 per day.. I am actually considering to end my gym membership. Have you gained new insights due to the pandemic? Changes you would like to implement once things are back to normal?

In the future we will be much more dependent upon self-sufficient communities for the population of human beings to survive. Transfer the analogy of the exponential growth from the corona virus to the birth of new people, and at one point our planet won't be able to sustain the amount of people anymore. When I was born in 1983, the world population was 4,7 billion. Today it is 7,8 billion. The more people, the quicker growth of new people. Maybe the pandemic is a way to keep the growth in check?

It's Never Too Late To Change Your Life 03.27.2020 →
Just as a newborn baby fully engaged in the here and now: Now is a golden opportunity to both practice presence and at the same time contemplate what you value in life. We have a limited supply of time on this earth. When you reach the end of your life and look back, will your current way of living bring you joyful memories? Or would you hope you had a different lifestyle? It's never too late to start over and change your life for the better. Look at life through the windshield, not the rear-view mirror.
