Letting go of attachment is key. What you want instead is detached awareness, in which you simply observe and take things less personally.
In conjunction with habits not serving you, this means to let go of the emotional bond between you and your behavior.
You may compare the exercise described in yesterday's post with removing weeds in a flower bed.
Once the weeds are gone, you can finally start grow and cultivate new habits towards your dream life without interference from the old ones.
